Future City National Competition Link
The mission of the National Engineers
Week Future City Competition is to provide a fun and
exciting educational engineering program for seventh-
and eighth-grade students that combines a stimulating
engineering challenge with a "hands-on" application to
present their vision of a city of the future.
Students are challenged to design and build a city of
the future using the SimCity software. The city
must display residential, commercial and industrial
areas, power plants, transportation systems,
communication systems, etc. Students will address
issues such as pollution, traffic density, taxes and
budgets while creating their city.
Any school interested in participating in
the Future City Competition should contact
Catherine Flarity.
