"LAPELS Professional Engineering Licensing Process and Rules"

Donna Sentell is the Executive Director for the Louisiana Engineering and Land Surveying Board. In addition to overseeing a staff of 13 employees, much of her time is spent making outreach presentations on the Importance of Licensure at the 8 Louisiana schools with engineering and surveying programs. She also make presentations on the laws, rules and professional ethics at various technical and professional societies. She has been in this position since 2005. She is a graduate of University of Central Oklahoma, with a degree in Political Science/Public Administration. She has also worked for the Louisiana Press Association and the College of Engineering at LSU. Donna is married to Will Sentell, a newspaper reporter with the Baton Rouge Advocate. They have two grown sons.

Janet Lindsey, an employee since 2010, is the LAPELS Application Manager. She oversees the application staff and the processing of approximately 200 applications a month. Her job is to ensure applicants are in compliance with the laws and rules of the board to obtain a license. She also works with NCEES and our licensees to establish an account or record to help with their licensure mobility, responds to questions from our licensees on CPD requirements and documentation, and assists with public outreach presentations. Janet is married to Ron Lindsey, a sales representative for a national wholesale firm S. P. Richards. They have a grown daughter Katie; she is a graduate of Southeastern University with a degree in education.
